Our Wedding | Dalarna, Sweden

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamt of getting married in Gagnef’s Kyrka in Gagnef, Sweden. I was born in Mora which is the heart of Sweden and the heart of Swedish culture. When our original plans of a wedding in April of 2020 got changed (for obvious reasons), we knew exactly what our back up plan would be. We had an intimate wedding ceremony and dinner on our original date in my parent’s backyard & planned a celebration a year later in Sweden.

It was not an easy task, planning an overseas wedding during a crazy time in the world. We showed up in Sweden with our wedding attire, some napkins and stationaries and said we would figure it out once we got there. Funny story- my best friend was supposed to photograph our wedding but due to travel restrictions couldn’t make it. So my cousin took all of our photos with my direction and help and I did all the editing. Essentially I was my own wedding photographer.

Our day was absolutely perfect, celebrating our marriage surrounded by my Swedish family who all longed to celebrate with us. I hope our story shows that no matter what happens, your wedding is meant to be about your marriage. At the end of the day the most important thing is your love for each other.
