THE HEART OF IT

If you would have told me ten years ago I’d be documenting people’s most important moments of their lives I would have never believed you. Photography was always a passion of mine but never something I knew I’d be lucky enough to pursue. Now for the last 5 years I’ve been lucky enough to document hundreds of special moments for some of the sweetest people I’m lucky enough to know. I am inspired by real moments and approach photography with a documentary style-combining classic portraiture with candid moments. My goal is to document moments you didn’t know I captured or maybe moments you did not even know happened. The real moments are what matter most when you look back on special times in your life through photographs because those are the moments we can never recreate or get back. With the right guidance and approach I am committed to creating timeless imagery that will stand the test of time.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am half Swedish- I was actually born there and we go back almost every year. My name is pronounced “Car-In” but I get Karen more times than I can count. I’m married to the love of my life and best friend, Austin. I got lucky and got to marry him twice (thanks 2020!). It’s likely you’ll see him tagging along to shoots and sometimes second shooting with me. We have three fur babies: Ellie, Henry, & Fitzgerald (we are huge pup lovers!). We live in a little town outside of Tampa and live for our nightly sunsets on the patio. I’m a lover of all things neutral, minimal, and cozy. Also a huge ABBA fan. We love to travel but we are also homebodies. I am happiest sitting at home with my husband with a good bottle of Italian wine. I just love the little things in life, because the little things are the big things and my purpose for capturing stories is to reflect that.
